Recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, the Coliseum is one of the most important monuments of ancient Rome, in addition to being known all over the world as the symbol of the city of Rome and of Italian culture in general.
IPM Italy had already been appointed to work on the pavement of this artwork back in 2000 and after 15 years, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and of Infrastructures again decided to choose IPM Italia for the important, delicate work of upgrading the existing waterproofed pavement.
The U.D. GEO DRENA system was selected for  this job.
This is an eco-friendly, breathable system with natural, exposed aggregates.
This innovative IPM solution was selected because of the special requirements of the work to carry out and the technical features of this draining system, which can guarantee a waterproofing action thanks to an elastomeric membrane inserted between the layers, allowing the water to flow into a collection system.
IPM Italia only took one week to construct 740 m2 of pavement; during that time our team of highly qualified professionals worked precisely, discreetly, without being invasive and without hindering the activities, enjoyment and access to this magnificent work of art. This made it possible to guarantee full compliance with the delivery deadline of the finished product for the official inauguration.
